Born 1989 in Tokyo. Completed the graduate program in Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts, and received an MFA in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Germany. Mochida is noted for alteration of the meanings and qualities of spaces by inserting temporary and strongly incongruous elements, such as walls and stairs, into existing spaces and buildings, disrupting the boundaries between private and public. Major exhibitions include "GOING AWAY CLOSER" EXPOSICIÓN DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO JAPÓN-CUBA” (2018, Havana).
