Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1992. Based in Mito city, Ibaraki Prefecture. He started his creative activities when he founded his own label, Trip Childs Recordings. Based on the concept of “translating ancestors’ voices by songs and sounds,” he composes music for lyrics that poets have written and sings them while playing the guitar. Making lo-fi music by the name of Yen Shiromaru producing sound sources on cassette tapes, working on “Sounds of Passage,” field-recording series on the theme of travel and the workshop project “Listener” at Art Tower Mito, Shiromaru explores daily expressions that slowly go beyond all borders on the theme of “sense of air and atmosphere” including sound and music. His recent works include Tsuburanarikeri kano hitomi (cute eyes in the past) (Takuto Shiromaru, 2018), and nddI (Yen Shiromaru, 2018).
