Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1984. Ceramic artist. Completed the graduate course of ceramics with a major in art and culture, the Graduate School of Design, Tohoku University of Art and Design. Still in college, she was influenced by ceramist Morihiro Wada. Many of her handmade works are fictitious creatures formed like animals. Stains, wrinkles and sagging skins that are remains of the passage of time are engraved in clay and are fired. She also makes works that she calls good luck charms and sculptural (humorous at the same time) dishware by the name of SANZOKU (bandit). Her major solo exhibitions are “Yutakana Kanjo“ (Rich Feelings) at Cyg art gallery (Iwate, 2018), “Dokomade ittemo buttai”(Object all the way) at TOKIO OUT of PLACE (Tokyo, 2017), “N.E. blood 21, vol. 63, Yuko Nemoto” at Rias Ark Museum of Art (Miyagi, 2017), —Toh, Genso no Ikimono (Ceramics, Creatures in Illusion), “Yuko Nemoto”, INAX gallery (Tokyo, 2009). She now works on ceramics at her home in Fukushima Prefecture.
